End of School...

Abby ended school a few weeks early this year since we were planning on going to a wedding in South Texas followed by a beach/vacation trip to the coast. Where did the 8 months go?? Seriously, it seemed like she was just beginning school not that long ago. Abby has always loved school and her friends. She really excelled this year and we are so proud of her. She still has another year of preschool left but has already asked when will she go to "big kids" school. Gosh, it's not too far off....:( sniff sniff

This was Abby's first day of Preschool back in September. She has sure changed in those 8 months. :)

Abby with her teacher, Miss Lacy, at the beginning of the school year. We love you Miss Lacy!

Abby's last day of school...strikin' a pose!

What a sweet pic!

Abby with her friends, Megan and Ana...so cute!

Abby receiving her preschool "diploma" early since she would not be present for the actual graduation ceremony the following week. We were at the beach that week. :)

We will miss you Miss Haley! You did a fantastic job!

Soccer Saturdays

For the past two months every Saturday morning, at 9am, we have a soccer game. I'm not sure why they scheduled us at 9am since our Bossier Team lives the furthest from the soccer field. It nearly takes us 25-30 minutes to get there. Anyhoo, I haven't posted as many soccer photos as I should so I decided to write this post.

This is Abby's second season of soccer. She seems get the logistics of it (most of the time) and has scored a few goals. She's kicking the ball now which is actually quite funny because as soon as she kicks it she will stop and look at me to say, "hey mom, did you see that!?"...she does this alot. I keep telling her to go after the ball and not just stop and look at me. :) She still a bit timid about "getting into the pack" and going after the ball but I think it will come in time (ugh, I hope!).

She does love soccer, her soccer friends (Billy, Wyatt, Aidan, Brody and Nixon) and it helps that Daddy is her coach.

While on our way to our soccer game Abby asked to see my camera since she wanted to view my previous pictures I had taken. Well, lo and behold when I went to upload my photos from the morning I found this cute little pic she took of herself. Not a bad pic taken by her I must say.

Here's Abby and her buddy, Wyatt, going after the ball. It seems like they are both trying to kick the ball even if they are on the same team. Ha!

Seth may look asleep in this picture but he's not. He was just taking it easy while watching sister play her game. :) Btw, it was COLD that morning!

Yep, it was a blanket kind of day...

Abby and Wyatt in action!

Wyatt, Abby and Aidan working as a team! I love how Abby seems to be mid-air in this pic!

I'm not sure what Abby and Wyatt are discussing but my guess is Wyatt is talking about Transformers and Abby well, probably something about being a princess! HA

Elmo Live

We arrive at the show! I made her take off her jacket briefly to take this pic...yep, it was VERY cold in the center.

We had some great seats on the floor! Thank goodness I brought her jacket!

Awww, the moment has arrived!

Mommy/Daughter day out! :)

It's the whole gang!

She just had to have some cotton candy of course! She was mesmerized by the whole show...

She has the cheesiest smiles sometimes...but so darn cute!

The show is about to end...

Picking up the streamers and any confetti she can find! :

Earlier in the month I took Abby to see Elmo Live. The theme of this show was Elmo's Healthy Heroes. We have been to a few Elmo shows and they never disappoint...this one was no exception! A sweet friend of mine was able to watch Seth for a few hours while Abby and I went to the show. It's been awhile since Abby and I just hung out by ourselves...just mommy and Abby. It was a fun outing and so nice to spend all my time focusing on her. Hearing her laugh, squeal with delight, and saying, "mommy, I had so much fun today with you...I love you!" just made my day!

Spring has sprung...

We have really enjoyed the beautiful weather lately...cool mornings and gorgeous afternoons. We try to get out every afternoon whether it's taking Seth for a walk, having Abby ride her bike, playing on the swingset, jumping on the trampoline, blowing bubbles or turning on the sprinkler. These are just some random shots I took of us enjoying the beautiful weather lately. :)
Abby and the flowers she planted with Bob-Bob back in the Fall. They were just bulbs back then but have turned out just beautiful!

Our first strawberry from our spring garden...this was about a month ago. Now they are growing quite fast and taste delicious!
Me and the kiddos enjoying a nice day outside...so much for trying to get them to look at the camera!

Little Miss Diva! :)

Enjoying the beautiful day out at the Boardwalk. :)

Artists at work...

Our Spring Break this year consisted of a "stay-cation" :) We had plenty to do around town and one of dear friends invited us to "Arts On Fire" in Shreveport. Melana and her kiddos met us there and Abby was thrilled to get to make some "art." I tried to tell her what the studio was about but it wasn't until we got there that she realized what she was going to do. She is always wanting to paint so I knew that she would have a great time plus she adores Melana's kids so it was a win-win. :) Thanks for inviting us! We had a blast and Abby can't wait to go back!

Abby chose an alligator to paint! :)

Aidan chose a tank!

Little Miss Adley enjoying herself!

My little man, Seth, wondering when it will be time to go!

Abby's finished product. They will glaze and fire it up at the studio then we get to take it home in about a week. Oh and yes, she had to have "pink fingernails!"

Abby and Aidan...I love his look!

Princesses & Pirates

Last Tuesday night we headed out to Chick Fil A for family night. The theme was Princesses and Pirates! Hey, right up our alley! Abby is of course obsessed with princesses and lately pirates too (well, not obssesed but interested). Jake and the Never Land Pirates on Disney Junior is a new favorite of hers. So when I found out that CFA was having a Princesses/Pirates Night we had to go. Plus it helps that kids eat free too! Abby started out on the Princess side and decorated a jewelry box, wore her crown and even had her nails painted...uh, pink of course! We scouted the Pirate side and I encouraged her to decorate a sword or atleast get a pirate hat but she didn't seem that interested. She wanted to go back to the Princess table. So, no pics of that but she did have a great time and Daddy joined us later for dinner. And oh yes, you are probably think well where was Seth this whole time....in his carseat, being a trooper, I accidently bumped him several times while trying to manuever around the restaurant. It was BUSY!
Decorating her jewelry box. She had to have the "glittery" foam stickers!

Getting her Princess Crown...

Decorating some more....she was there for awhile!

Getting her nails done...the best part she said! :)

Princess Abby...ha, she kept her hands like this for quite some time. She was afraid to mess up her nails! lol Such a girlie girl!

Backyard Fun

I remember as a kid how much I enjoyed jumping on trampolines. I had friends who had them and would long for the days when I would go over to their houses and jump to my heart's content. We never had one. I do remember asking my parents for one but we never got one. So now I am feeling like a young kid again. Two weekends ago we purchased our new backyard accessory...a trampoline. Abby had outgrown her small one so we upgraded. It turned out to be bigger than I thought but boy, it sure is fun. Abby could stay outside forever if I let her. She absolutely loves it! Well, I do too and get a great workout as well. Here's how we (er, Dan) did it...
Getting started...the frame and springs (oh the countless springs) took quite a while but we got it. Abby even got involved and was the "Spring Girl" as we called her. She would hand out the springs whenever we needed one. She was very hands on with this project!

Once the springs and mat were on Abby gave it a quick "trial jump."
Daddy got in on the action too...yep, it is installed correctly!

Daddy was already worn out...hahaha! So Abby kept on jumping...
and jumping, and jumping, and jumping.....
