Weekend Fun

On Friday, we had a gorgeous day of fall-like weather. It was nice and cool for a change. Abby and I met up with some close friends at Landa Park for a playdate and lunch. It was nice just relaxing while the kids played and the moms shared the latest gossip. :) Abby tried out the new "big kids" playground and she loved it. She got up enough courage to go up to the top slide and go down by herself. I am always hesitant about letting her get on the bigger slides but I'm glad she did. She LOVED it and kept going down it several times! She had the biggest smile you have ever seen while saying, " I did it Mom!" We ended our playdate with lunch and had a wonderful morning! Thanks Jennifer for the invite!

On Saturday, one of Abby's friends, Hayley, celebrated her 2nd birthday at the park. We enjoyed playing on the playground, eating yummy cake and a special train ride! It was a lot of fun and such a gorgeous day to be out with friends.

Love Creek Orchards & Pumpkin Patch

Gobble Gobble!

Little Miss Abigail!

Is this cute or what!

This past Monday we went to Love Creek Orchards & Pumpkin Patch in Medina, Texas. Dan's parents were down visit us for the week and we thought this would be a perfect family outing. If you have never been there, I highly recommend this place! We went last year and had so much fun we decided to do it again. There are so many fun activities to do like painting pumpkins, building a scarecrow, hay maze, a petting zoo, hay rides, pony rides, apple orchard tours and lots of photo opportunities with the tons of pumpkins they have!

Abby remembered the place and was immediately drawn to the hay maze. It was her favorite part of the whole area!

We had such a wonderful time and ended our day with some delicious homemade apple dumplings loaded with apple ice cream and cider sauce!!!

Thanks Grams and Daddy Bob for coming with us! We loved it!

Visit to Mimi & Papa's House

This past weekend we made a trip to see my parents and grandmas. We arrived Friday afternoon and had a nice dinner at Lee's Steakhouse. Lee is an old family friend and it was nice seeing him after many years. While we waited for our food Abby and my dad "played" some pool! She would grab the cue ball and put in the "cave" as she says. She sure did love waiting for the ball to come back to her! That kept her entertained for a while.

Saturday morning we spent visiting my Grandma Eva at her house. Abby hasn't seen her great grandma in over a year so it was a nice visit for her too. She was very happy to show her what she carried in her purse. :) While we were visiting one of my grandmothers, Dan and my dad went on a dove hunting trip in Eagle Pass. They had a great time and they got a few too!

Saturday evening we cooked out at the house with the family and the grandmas. We even enjoyed some yummy dove wraps from the morning hunt! Thanks Mom and Dad for the yummy food and for a wonderful weekend!!!

Finally getting a group shot of all the kiddos!

Posing with the pumpkins

The hay didn't bother her too much this year. :)

What to do??? There are so many!

Our little pumpkin :)

My favorite photo of the bunch!

Yesterday, Abby and I met some of our friends at the Bracken Pumpkin Patch. My friend, Leann, arranged this fun playdate for us (thanks Leann!). It's about a 20 minutes drive from our house. The patch is set up every year by the Methodist Church in Bracken but this was our first visit there. It was so much fun! There were only 7 mommies and the kiddos there...no crowds! The kids had so much fun running around, picking pumpkins and playing with the wagons. We managed to get some good pics of all of them. We also were able to have them paint their pumpkins. This was a fun activity for everyone and they all did so well! No paint in anyone's hair!! :)

Abby loved seeing her friends and really enjoyed running around the patch looking for the perfect pumpkin. After several attempts at finding the right one, she found it! She wanted to bring home several but we only picked one for right now.
We ended our morning adventure with a nice lunch at Caparelli's near the patch. All the kiddos worked up an appetite...and the mommies too!
Abby has already asked when we are going back. :)
