HOCKEY!!! (not for a 5 month old)

Great seats! Smack dab in the middle of die-hard fans!

The official Mudbug mascot and his "little" mudbug...you can't see him but he's right next to the larger one. :)

Luckily, Seth was in good spirits after the whole ordeal.

Seriously, how can you resist this face!!

Part of my Mother's Day gift was attending one of the playoff games for our local Bossier City hockey team, the Mudbugs. I haven't been to a hockey game in SEVERAL years. So we thought it would be a fun outing for the family. Dan had gone before with Abby, and they both really enjoyed it, so I said, "Sure, why not?" ....ugh, what was I thinking!!

Less than 5 minutes into the game poor Seth was crying. And I mean CRYING! It was ridiculously loud in there. One, Dan chose the seats smack dab in the middle so we were surrounded by die hard Mudbug fans. Two, I couldn't hear myself talk since the fans were yelling like crazy. And three, I know Seth was terrified of all the loud noises not only coming from the fans but the volume on the sound system was cranked up. :(

I told Dan I was leaving and gonna head up to the main concourse area. I needed some quietness for my sake and of course Seth's. With Seth in my baby carrier and an overloaded diaper bag I proceeded to make my way to the stairs. The die hard fans we were sitting next to did not like me asking them to please move since I was scurring myself to get out as soon as possible. Oh, I had many looks for sure! Please people!!

Finally we made up to the concourse and Seth did eventually settle down. I spent the entire game (less the last period..roughly 2 hours!) walking around the Century Tel with Seth. He was happy but I was tired! I was able to watch the game from the surrounding TV's but I was more interested in watching the Lakers/Mavs game. Twice Dan and Abby came out to see how I was doing.

I decided to head back to the van to feed Seth and rest my aching feet. It was a warm day too and Seth was starting to get cranky. I was relieved to get to the car and blast the a/c.

About 20 minutes later Dan and Abby showed up and we made our way home.

I was hoping for a better family outing than what happened. From now on Seth will be staying home if we go to another hockey game or any event that has loud noises until he is a bit older.

Mother's Day

My official Mother's Day photo! Abby didn't look too enthused...she was hungry. We were waiting for a table at the Saltgrass.

Abby all dressed up for church.

Some of my precious gifts from Dan and the kids. A gorgeous homemade corsage from Abby, lovely earrings from Dan and the kids and a touching Mother's Day card.

I absolutely love homemade gifts! Here are a few that Abby made for me while at preschool. Just precious!

My lovely corsage that Abby made! I proudly wore it to church on Mother's Day! :)

What a Mother's Day! It started out with my favorite breakfast made by the best husband in the whole world. He knows I love his cinammon chocolate chip pancakes so it was a no brainer on what to make me that morning. I was also promptly greated with cards and presents soon after I woke up. We rarely sleep in over here so we were all up pretty early.

We all went to church and I proudly wore my corsage Abby made for me. She was happy about it. I also wore my beautiful earrings which matched a necklace I receieved from Dan and Abby when Seth was born.

After church we headed over to the Saltgrass for lunch. It was packed but we didn't wait too long. I splurged on a sirloin steak with shrimp and a loaded baked potato! Yummy!

Later that evening we headed over to a hockey game at the Century Tel Center...that is another post and note to self: do not take a 5 month old to a hockey game!

End of School...

Abby ended school a few weeks early this year since we were planning on going to a wedding in South Texas followed by a beach/vacation trip to the coast. Where did the 8 months go?? Seriously, it seemed like she was just beginning school not that long ago. Abby has always loved school and her friends. She really excelled this year and we are so proud of her. She still has another year of preschool left but has already asked when will she go to "big kids" school. Gosh, it's not too far off....:( sniff sniff

This was Abby's first day of Preschool back in September. She has sure changed in those 8 months. :)

Abby with her teacher, Miss Lacy, at the beginning of the school year. We love you Miss Lacy!

Abby's last day of school...strikin' a pose!

What a sweet pic!

Abby with her friends, Megan and Ana...so cute!

Abby and her buddy, Wyatt.

Abby receiving her preschool "diploma" early since she would not be present for the actual graduation ceremony the following week. We were at the beach that week. :)

Abby, Miss Haley, Megan and Ana :)

We will miss you Miss Haley! You did a fantastic job!

Abby's diploma and medal...she was very proud of it! :)

Soccer Saturdays

For the past two months every Saturday morning, at 9am, we have a soccer game. I'm not sure why they scheduled us at 9am since our Bossier Team lives the furthest from the soccer field. It nearly takes us 25-30 minutes to get there. Anyhoo, I haven't posted as many soccer photos as I should so I decided to write this post.

This is Abby's second season of soccer. She seems get the logistics of it (most of the time) and has scored a few goals. She's kicking the ball now which is actually quite funny because as soon as she kicks it she will stop and look at me to say, "hey mom, did you see that!?"...she does this alot. I keep telling her to go after the ball and not just stop and look at me. :) She still a bit timid about "getting into the pack" and going after the ball but I think it will come in time (ugh, I hope!).

She does love soccer, her soccer friends (Billy, Wyatt, Aidan, Brody and Nixon) and it helps that Daddy is her coach.

While on our way to our soccer game Abby asked to see my camera since she wanted to view my previous pictures I had taken. Well, lo and behold when I went to upload my photos from the morning I found this cute little pic she took of herself. Not a bad pic taken by her I must say.

Here's Abby and her buddy, Wyatt, going after the ball. It seems like they are both trying to kick the ball even if they are on the same team. Ha!

Seth may look asleep in this picture but he's not. He was just taking it easy while watching sister play her game. :) Btw, it was COLD that morning!

Yep, it was a blanket kind of day...

Abby and Wyatt in action!

Wyatt, Abby and Aidan working as a team! I love how Abby seems to be mid-air in this pic!

I'm not sure what Abby and Wyatt are discussing but my guess is Wyatt is talking about Transformers and Abby well, probably something about being a princess! HA

Elmo Live

We arrive at the show! I made her take off her jacket briefly to take this pic...yep, it was VERY cold in the center.

We had some great seats on the floor! Thank goodness I brought her jacket!

Awww, the moment has arrived!

Mommy/Daughter day out! :)

It's the whole gang!

She just had to have some cotton candy of course! She was mesmerized by the whole show...

She has the cheesiest smiles sometimes...but so darn cute!

The show is about to end...

Picking up the streamers and any confetti she can find! :

Earlier in the month I took Abby to see Elmo Live. The theme of this show was Elmo's Healthy Heroes. We have been to a few Elmo shows and they never disappoint...this one was no exception! A sweet friend of mine was able to watch Seth for a few hours while Abby and I went to the show. It's been awhile since Abby and I just hung out by ourselves...just mommy and Abby. It was a fun outing and so nice to spend all my time focusing on her. Hearing her laugh, squeal with delight, and saying, "mommy, I had so much fun today with you...I love you!" just made my day!
