Transportation Week

All this week Abby has been learning about Transportation at school. One project she, and her daddy, worked on was creating a mode of transportation for their parade at school. Immediately Abby wanted to make a school bus so Daddy got to work. It took a few weeks to work on it but Daddy (and Abby) did a phenomenal job! Abby did alot of the painting too! She was very excited to bring it to school yesterday for the parade! All the kids had a great time!

Is this the cutest bus or what?

Gotta have a stop sign too!

The parade is ready to go!

Abby's friends, Malikai and Melanie.

 Isabelle and her taxi...too cute!

Gotta love that bus!

Dixie Carnival

The Dixie Carnival!!! Oh how much fun we had that morning! Of course this was back in April I believe so the weather was tolerable and a bit brisk. This was also a time where Abby rode many of the rides by herself...such a big girl! These photos show how excited she was particularly on the "big slide!" My how I remember how much fun I had as a little girl...

AND...you just have to have cotton candy plus a funnel cake *which I forgot to include in this post!

Oh and our sweet Seth...he did soooo well and was in such a happy mood! He was taking in all the sights and sounds!

Abby rode these cool cars a few times...reminded me of my old Red Mustang from high school. :)

Oh and lets not forget the "Dumbo" ride, as she called it! She absolutely LOVED it and rode it several times. Here she is giving us a "wave" of approval!

Well, and you know, Daddy had to get in on the fun too!

She did a little "fishing" too...thought that was an expensive inflatable flower she got! $5 for a game...good grief!

I thought these swings were awesome! I wish they would of had something like this when I was growing up. Abby seemed to really enjoy it! It was just the right speed.

And we ended our fun day with a few rides on the mini-coaster! It was so much fun that Abby even had her hands up in the air while we rode! Crazy girl!

And one last ride on the merry-go-round!!

Eeeekkkk...has it really been this long?

Okay, okay...I'm a total slacker. But seriously, has it really been 2 months since I posted on here. WOW! I can honestly say though that my kids keep me sooooo busy during the day and night that most nights (if not ALL) I just want to crash myself after getting them to sleep. But here it is 1:21am and I'm still up! It's a miracle...not sure why I can't sleep but why not update this blog! So bear with me as I try to figure what to put up first...backtrack or just start with what I've got now. I think I will backtrack since sooooo much has gone on in these past two months and it's worth documenting!

I'm baaaccckkkk....

Some light reading....

Giving the hula hoop a try...she's getting it!

Water fun in the backyard!

Swim lessons...

Strikin' a pose for the camera!

So it's been a long time since I posted anything up on the blog. Well, truth be told that my laptop got infected with two horrible virus and I thought I had lost everything...including my beloved pictures which I had yet to upload to my flashdrive. Well long story short (and several hundred $ later) the Geek Squad was able to locate my files and fix my computer. So...now to fill you in on what's been going on.
Lots really! It's been non-stop over here and looks like we will finally slow down after this month. You will find some random pics from our daily adventures in this short post.
Tomorrow I will start a new post and try to pick up where I left off. Night!

Mudbug Madness

Stopped by the kids booth to make a one-of-a-kind masterpiece!

Finishing up her artwork...

It was HOT out there...trying to stay cool!

She wasn't too sure about the loud music...

Such a lovely couple!

Deb & Diana

Daddy and the kiddos!

Crawfish Champ! This guy ate over 17 lbs of crawfish in 15 minutes!

Okay so you're thinking what is a mudbug?? Well, just about the most delicious creature in Louisiana...crawfish!! Yep, we have an annual crawfish festival and this was our second time to attend the oh-so-fun festival. With the inlaws in town, along with my sister in law and her husband, we loaded up in two cars and off we went. Note: We went on Friday AND Saturday! The food is sooooo good and the music well, even better. I could just sit there and listen to the cajun music all day if I wanted too. It was a hot day but the breeze was great and the kids didn't get too cranky. :)
On a side note: we ate just about anything crawfish we could find...crawfish pies, crawfish ettouffe (sp?), boiled crawfish, gumbo, and some awesome lobster puffs! Oh and I had my first taste of alligator..not bad. :)

HOCKEY!!! (not for a 5 month old)

Great seats! Smack dab in the middle of die-hard fans!

The official Mudbug mascot and his "little" mudbug...you can't see him but he's right next to the larger one. :)

Luckily, Seth was in good spirits after the whole ordeal.

Seriously, how can you resist this face!!

Part of my Mother's Day gift was attending one of the playoff games for our local Bossier City hockey team, the Mudbugs. I haven't been to a hockey game in SEVERAL years. So we thought it would be a fun outing for the family. Dan had gone before with Abby, and they both really enjoyed it, so I said, "Sure, why not?" ....ugh, what was I thinking!!

Less than 5 minutes into the game poor Seth was crying. And I mean CRYING! It was ridiculously loud in there. One, Dan chose the seats smack dab in the middle so we were surrounded by die hard Mudbug fans. Two, I couldn't hear myself talk since the fans were yelling like crazy. And three, I know Seth was terrified of all the loud noises not only coming from the fans but the volume on the sound system was cranked up. :(

I told Dan I was leaving and gonna head up to the main concourse area. I needed some quietness for my sake and of course Seth's. With Seth in my baby carrier and an overloaded diaper bag I proceeded to make my way to the stairs. The die hard fans we were sitting next to did not like me asking them to please move since I was scurring myself to get out as soon as possible. Oh, I had many looks for sure! Please people!!

Finally we made up to the concourse and Seth did eventually settle down. I spent the entire game (less the last period..roughly 2 hours!) walking around the Century Tel with Seth. He was happy but I was tired! I was able to watch the game from the surrounding TV's but I was more interested in watching the Lakers/Mavs game. Twice Dan and Abby came out to see how I was doing.

I decided to head back to the van to feed Seth and rest my aching feet. It was a warm day too and Seth was starting to get cranky. I was relieved to get to the car and blast the a/c.

About 20 minutes later Dan and Abby showed up and we made our way home.

I was hoping for a better family outing than what happened. From now on Seth will be staying home if we go to another hockey game or any event that has loud noises until he is a bit older.

Mother's Day

My official Mother's Day photo! Abby didn't look too enthused...she was hungry. We were waiting for a table at the Saltgrass.

Abby all dressed up for church.

Some of my precious gifts from Dan and the kids. A gorgeous homemade corsage from Abby, lovely earrings from Dan and the kids and a touching Mother's Day card.

I absolutely love homemade gifts! Here are a few that Abby made for me while at preschool. Just precious!

My lovely corsage that Abby made! I proudly wore it to church on Mother's Day! :)

What a Mother's Day! It started out with my favorite breakfast made by the best husband in the whole world. He knows I love his cinammon chocolate chip pancakes so it was a no brainer on what to make me that morning. I was also promptly greated with cards and presents soon after I woke up. We rarely sleep in over here so we were all up pretty early.

We all went to church and I proudly wore my corsage Abby made for me. She was happy about it. I also wore my beautiful earrings which matched a necklace I receieved from Dan and Abby when Seth was born.

After church we headed over to the Saltgrass for lunch. It was packed but we didn't wait too long. I splurged on a sirloin steak with shrimp and a loaded baked potato! Yummy!

Later that evening we headed over to a hockey game at the Century Tel Center...that is another post and note to self: do not take a 5 month old to a hockey game!
